Fall Rally 2007

“Let Go and Live”

Five of the Youth went with Dan DeRoche and Bev Ouellette to Fally Rally held at the YMCA Camp Tockwogh, on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland.  I'm happy to report that the weekend was a HUGE success!  The kids came back so full of love and so connected.  They are pumped!

I thought we (Dan & I) were going as observers and let me tell you, that was far from the truth.  It was an emotional ride for me and it brought me great joy to watch the kids bond and have fun, and I know they all grew from the experience.  The van is a great way for us all to process what happened on the way back.

My dream is being realized and this weekend was a great kickoff to that goal.

January 29, 2008

Your continued generosity to the Youth touches me very much.  Amy Deroche headed up the luncheon and did a fabulous job from beginning to end in leading the team.  Thanks to your generosity we raised $779.00.  This was a great relief as now we can pay for the van for the trip to Syracuse and have a good chunk left to put towards the van for Spring Rally.   These rallies are an important part of the Y.O.U. program.  The kids have bonded with other youth from the Eastern Region of Unity Churches.  It has been wonderful watching these kids blossom over the weekends.  I can assure you, I see some future leaders developing.

LeRoy White  was the keynote speaker and musician for the Syracuse Rally.  The theme was the Power of Love and the affirmation “I vibrate and radiate the Love of God.”.  LeRoy was sensational and the message was powerful.  Check out LeRoy’s website (www.leroywhite.com) and click on my gift to you.  Remember to love yourself first, because then you’ll have much to give the rest of the world.  LeRoy received a standing ovation for his Sunday lesson.  He rocked the congregation!

Paul O’Doherty did a great job in heading up the family ski day at Ski Sundown.   There were around 28 people that attended and they had a blast!!

Mark your calendars for upcoming activities:

Ø      Sunday, February 24 – bowling following Service

Ø      Sunday, March 23 – Easter Egg Hunt following Service

Ø      Sunday, April 20 – Pancake breakfast

It takes many people to keep this program running.  I’m very grateful to all the wonderful volunteers that put in their time and love.  We can always use more help.  Please consider helping in the classrooms – one Sunday a month or whatever you are able to give.  You’ll get back much more than you could ever imagine.  Our kids rock!  Our volunteers rock!  Go UNITY!!

 With love, joy and blessings,

Bev Ouellette

Director, Youth and Family Ministry
