Each week of the series will include a lesson, a connection of spiritual principles, an affirmation, and creative expression.
Our first week is, "The Journey to a Far Country Begins"
This lesson will teach us to understand that at various times in our lives we all make decisions in order to discover something new about ourselves. We will affirm: "God is with me no matter where I am."
Along with our weekly lesson, we will also do a creative expression activity. This will be an activity built upon as we work our way through the twelve weeks, occasionally it will be something to take home. At the end of the series, on December 20th, we will have a grand celebration of our journey, and of "coming home".

"Revelation: The Road to Overcoming"
by Charles A. Neal
Revelation: The Road to Overcoming gives you the information you need to appreciate the final book of the Bible for the priceless jewel of inspiration and instruction that it truly is.
This easy-to-read guide explains the inspirational teachings of John, allows you to come to a clearer understanding of metaphysical principles, and gives you step-by-step instructions on how to use those principles in your daily life. The method of interpretation is squarely based on the ideas put forth by Charles Fillmore, Unity’s cofounder.
This book will aid all who seek spiritual growth, for the messages are timeless in their application. Use this practical manual to help you overcome life’s problems and discover a new way to appreciate the final – and least understood – book of the Bible.

Bishop Spong 10:00 AM-Bishop Spong will give a workshop/lecture in our Community Room,Saturday November 14th from 10:00 - noon.
The Rt. Rev. John Shelby Spong, retired bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Newark, will speak about his most recent work, Eternal Life: A New Vision, just published this month. A committed Christian who has spent a lifetime studying the Bible, Bishop Spong is considered a champion of an inclusive faith who makes contemporary theology accessible and clear to Christians and non-Christians alike.
In talking about his latest book, Bishop Spong says, “I do believe there is life beyond death. Yet, my jour-ney has carried me beyond religion, beyond Christianity as it is traditionally understood, and beyond heaven and hell. It has brought me to a new vision of eternity.” “The religion of the past sought an answer to the unique human awareness of death by postulating a realm in which death is overcome. I seek a door-way into the eternal by going deeply into this life. My search for „heaven. will cause me to turn to this life, for that is the only place where I believe we can hear the echoes of eternity. We no longer look outward for God, but begin to look inward. That is not to walk away from God. It is to walk into God.
Bishop Spong is a visiting lecturer at Harvard and at universities and churches worldwide. He delivers over 200 lectures each year, and also maintains an active website at www.johnshelbyspong.com. He is the best-selling author of such books as Rescuing the Bible from Fundamentalism, The Sins of Scripture, A New Christianity for a New World, and Why Christianity Must Change or Die.
Admission is $25.
Unity in Sacred Places 01:30 PM-Nov 14 at Wadsworth Falls State Park.. This is early enough in Nov so as not to clash with the holiday planning. It is also the same day that Bishop Spong will be having his workshop. We will push the meet up time to 1:30 pm to allow anyone attending the workshop to have time to eat lunch, change clothes and return to the meet-up point at the church parking lot. We will depart a 1:45 pm for the park. The park is located south of Middletown,.Ct.
I would strongly advise anyone wishing to participate with us to contact Jim Mahoney for details about the park. These details will be available in the flyer as well and on the web. My contact information: (860) 219-9889 or gem.mah@comcast.net

The flow of energy is enhanced when we relax, breathe deeply, clear the mind and move gently. When the energy flows smoothly, the body heals. Class fee: $5.
The class is lead by Beth Hugh who has practiced and taught Qigong, Tai Chi Chuan, and Reike for more than 20 years.

Youth and Family Ministry
On October 4th, our youth will begin .."The Journey to Oz".
This series uses the beloved characters from The Wizard of Oz book and film to gently teach us that all we will ever need to succeed in life is right within us. Through our connection with Spirit, we can do all things. This is the only place we need to look.
All children are welcome to join in the fun, be if for one week, or for all.
Children under the age of five will be lovingly cared for in our Uni Stars room, where they will experience love and kindness through play.
