'Bible Alive' Sundays at 8:30 AM
With Rev. Ed Townley
We'll gather each Sunday morning at 8:30 (!) for a very casual, laid-back service in our Community Room focused on the Bible. Each week we'll use the standard lectionary as our guide to short, specific passages in both Hebrew scripture and the New Testament, and we'll see how the passages resonate with our Unity-based focus on universal spiritual principles. You'll be able to grab a cup of coffee and join in a simple service that seeks to go deeper into scripture - not just for its theological or historical interest, but as a powerful, helpful and highly entertaining guide to the challenges of our lives today.

Lessons in Truth
with Barbara Schafer, APRN, LUT
Wednesdays, 10:00 -11:30 a.m.
September 15 to November 17, 2010
Lessons in Truth is frequently referred to as Unity's basic textbook. It is a compilation of articles written by Dr. H. Emilie Cady, who was a true holistic pioneer. Born in 1848, this homeopathic physician treated her patients both medically and spiritually. Cady was inspired by biblical teachings and influenced by Ralph Waldo Emerson. She was a contemporary of Emmet Fox, a great metaphysician and lecturer; Ernest Holmes, founder of the church of the Religious Science; and Charles and Myrtle Fillmore, co-founders of the Unity movement. The book is written as a clear, concise representation of New Thought philosophy and metaphysical Christianity. Dr. Cady's straight-forward approach and no-nonsense style make her words as powerful as they are timeless. She encourages us to find our own truth as it is written in our hearts and then apply these truths in every area of our lives. Come and join this wonderful class taught by Barbara Schafer, APRN, Licensed Unity Teacher (LUT).
